How to delete your data
Pick whichever option matches your situation.
Delete your entire account Recommended
Removes your parent account, every child profile, every device, and all monitoring data.
- Open the ChildSafe parent app on your phone.
- Tap Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Heads up. This signs out every device immediately and erases all data from our servers. It cannot be undone.
Delete a single child profile
Keeps your account but removes one child, their device, and all their monitoring data. Other children on your account are unaffected.
- Open the ChildSafe parent app.
- Select the child you want to remove from the home screen.
- Tap Settings (gear icon) → Remove Child.
- Confirm the removal.
Lost access to your phone? Recovery
Your ChildSafe account lives on our servers, not on your phone. If you lose, replace, or reset your phone, you can recover access immediately:
- Install the ChildSafe parent app on any Android phone.
- Sign in with the same email and password (or Google Sign-In) you used before.
- If you have forgotten your password, tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen to receive a reset email.
- Once signed in, follow the account or child deletion steps above.
Can't recover your account at all? Last resort
If the options above don't work for you — for example, if you no longer have access to the email address associated with your account — contact us directly.
- Email admin@childsafe.uk.
- Put "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line.
- We will ask you to verify that you are the account holder before taking action. This typically involves confirming information only the account holder would know.
- Once verified, deletion is completed within 30 days and we will email you to confirm.
Why we verify. We take this step to protect your family. Without verification, anyone who knew your email address could request deletion of your data.
What gets deleted
Every piece of personal data we hold about your account and your children is erased.
Deleted immediately and permanently
- Your parent account (email, name, password hash, Google Sign-In link)
- All child profiles you manage (names, age groups, settings)
- All device records (device names, configuration, provisioning data)
- Location history and last-known location
- Call log records, SMS records, and app notification logs
- Keyword match alerts and flagged events
- Usage statistics and screen-time records
- AI Learning Buddy conversation metadata
- Family sharing records and invitations
- Tamper events and safety audit logs associated with your account
- Push notification tokens
- The dedicated DNS content-filtering server for each child (and all associated query logs)
Any data held on your behalf by third-party services we rely on is also removed as part of this process. Those services do not hold your name, email, or account details on their own — they only ever see anonymous identifiers. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of services we use.
Retained for legal or technical reasons
- Subscription and payment records held by Google Play (retained per Google Play's policy — we do not control this)
- Anonymised service logs containing no personal data (up to 90 days, for security and service integrity)
- Financial records required by UK law, such as VAT invoices (up to 7 years as required by HMRC — these do not contain monitoring data)
